Belmont Park is without question best amusement parks in San Diego, and one of the city's major tourist attractions. With plenty to do for the hold family, Belmont Park makes for the perfect family day destination.
The most distinctive attraction in the Park is the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster, also known as the Mission Beach Roller Coaster, is renowned for its quick drops, steep hills, and insane speed! The Giant Dipper Roller Coaster was built in 1925. Along with the almost identical coaster at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, the two are the last remaining roller coasters on the west coast erected by noted coaster builders Prior and Church.

Another popular Belmont Park attraction is the Flowrider, and endless wave that's perfect for wave riders. Also a water related amusement is the "Plunge". The plunge is a major attraction, and is the largest indoor heated pool in San Diego and is ideal for swimming and diving.
If watersports aren't your idea of fun there's the renowned Chaos as a fun alternative. Chaos looks like a ferris wheel, but each ride is a random selection of 3 dimensional rocking and rolling motions, so every ride is different. There are of course many other rides and attractions at the park, such as the Crazy Submarine, the Trampoline and the Rock Wall.
Once you've had enough of amusement park rides and attractions there is still lots to do at Belmont Park. The city of San Diego is a popular tourist destination, so you can on Belmont Park having something going on every day and night, from special events to live entertainment. To round out your visit to the park do a little shopping and try some of the food.
Belmont Park is closed Monday through Thursday, and open Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 10 PM. The park is also open on Sunday 11 AM until 8 PM. The park is closed on major holidays.
