Bulgaria is a country in the Balkans. located on the western side of the Black Sea. It's surrounded by Romania to the north, Serbia to the northwest, the Republic of Macedonia to the southwest, Greece to the south, and Turkey to the southeast.
Located close to the Turkish Straits as it is, all of the key land routes from Europe to the Middle East and Asia pass through Bulgaria.
Bulgaria has a great deal to offer tourist, such as beautiful beaches, historical castles and churches, winter sports facilities, and so on. Howerver, Bulgaria it is not as much of a draw for tourists as most European nations are. Although this is unfortunate for Bulgarian tourism, it can be a bonus for those who do visit.
With its tourism industry still developing, prices in Bulgaria tend to be more affordable, and accommodations less likely to be booked up.
The Bulgarian visas are issued by Bulgarian embassies and consulates abroad, not at the passport control at airports, land or sea points of entry Bulgaria.
By applying for a Bulgarian visa, the applicant agrees that the personal data appearing on the application form would be electronically stored and processed, and if necessary, passed on to the appropriate authorities of other countries in execution of Bulgaria's international obligations.
A visa is issued only to holders of a passport or travel documents that are valid for at least 3 months after the end of the intended stay in Bulgaria, and have a blank page available for affixing the visa vignettes.
It is recommended that all children entering Bulgaria are required to have their own passport. In the event young children are included in their parents' passports, the parents' passports must contains the child's photograph or and entry visa for Bulgaria will not ber granted.
Upon entry into Bulgaria, foreigners are required to declare in writing the purpose of their stay and the address at which they will reside. There is an official registration form for this purpose. Exempt are citizens of European Union member states and citizens of countries in the Economic European Area.
Holders of a valid passport from the following countries do not need a visa to visit Bulgaria for up to 90 days within each period of six months:

Holders of the following types of the British Passports are required to have visas to enter Bulgaria:

Visa applications require up to 15 working days to be processed because each application needs to receive clearance by the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry in Sofia.
Foreign nationals entering Bulgarian territory by motor vehicle are required to present a document of ownership for the vehicle. Therefore if the vehicle is not owned by the driver or a passenger, such as in cases of rental vehicles, be sure that the car rental company provides you wish some form of proof of ownership with the rental contract.
All foreign visitors to Bulgarian are required by law to contact a local police station within 48 hours of their arrival in Bulgaria and present in writing the address at which they will be staying. If staying are a hotel or private lodgings, it is the hotel management or host that is obliged to register them at the local police station.
